Hello guys. Hugo is here. I noticed your platform a while ago when you rolled out v2, tried it all over, and I have to admit that I’m liking it a lot so far, though I had a few doubts/concerns at the beginning about which I want to talk below
.
I’m very much interested in community owned node running, you have interesting incentives for stakers and I’m very much waiting for your swap extensions, BUT there are 2 things that I’m very sure that will stop masses of users from using your services (same as why you don’t have thousands of users already right now):
- Email registration
Don’t get me wrong, I totally trust you guys. You have excellent support, you’re very open to community, your team and platform seem very transparent (despite the fact that not open source). However you should realise that you’re in crypto zone. Here are different industry standards. A typical user doesn’t like an email. A typical user doesn’t want to depend on the third party when dealing with his finance. What if my email client is down, what if I don’t have access to my mail at the moment, but need to access my tokens what if smth else. There are too many “what if”, while this is a permissionless space, there should be a minimum number of “what if” if you want to make a popular crypto finance product.
Ok, if you’re thinking that your email feature is a KILLER feature, then keep it, advertise it, but do not deprive a user to access your product and his funds without email, without a third party involved in this whole process.
Include "log in without email" choice among other social media log in choices, call it a “light version”, you can even add “add emaile, or subscribe” option in settings or a pop up on mobile sometimes, just in case user decides to provide the email after understanding how cool your app is. But give this goddamn choice to users!
- Web3 wallet support.
*it’s on the roadmap, I saw that, ok. But only in February! Cmon guys. All dapps even shitty nft collections release their functionality together with Keplr or Metamask support. You’re going against the first fundamental principle in crypto: "Keep your seed safe in one place." Again, I know I can trust you guys, but trust less access with web3 wallet is industry standard, WEB3 is an established crypto god and you can’t neglect it already.
Sorry I’m not a dev, but is it that difficult to add support little earlier? You will lose lots of potential users that could have come for your osmosis, Uniswap and PCS integrations.
I wish lots of luck and love to Citadel fam, hope my words be heard and could touch you
